I have Toshiba usb2.0 2.5HD external, not working?
I have Toshiba usb2.0 2.5HD external, my HD was working fine till yesterday. I had to do a system restore for my hp dv4017AP laptop yesterday and unfortunately my external HD was connected with my Laptop. now if I connect my HD with my PC or laptop I can’t see the HD anywhere, even in my computer. at the bottom right hand a safe removal I-con comes on. I have tried in different computer, still same problem. tried to update the driver, checked if there is any problem with USB drive or connection, everything working fine but unable to view the HD. can you help lease
When you plug the HD in, do you get the Ba-ding sound?
If YES, right click My computer, manage, disk management.
In the bottom right screen, right click on the USB drive, and change the drive letter.
IF No, you will need to install some system drivers from HP. Check you computer for yellow !. Right click My computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager.
Look for yellow ! and then goto the HP website, and download all drivers not loaded for your computer.
Also, try a differnt USB cable.
